How to Create a Membership Program on EzyCourse

Do you think creating a membership program is still as hard as it used to be? It used to be, but not anymore.

A few years back, it was hard to create an entire membership business.

But look at things now!

Time has changed, and anyone can easily create a membership program using the best membership platforms. And it’s super simple with EzyCourse if you follow just a few steps. Hundreds of people have already launched course websites, membership programs, and other types of online businesses using this online creator platform.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a membership program on EzyCourse step by step. You'll also learn why membership programs work so well and why EzyCourse is the best platform to get started.

But first, let’s talk about what membership means.

What Is A Membership Program?

image

You’ve probably been a member of a secret website, private membership forum, online course, or community before. Or perhaps you have subscriptions like Netflix or a gym membership.

This means you already know what membership is. Now, let's look at what it means in a simple way.

A membership program is where you get regular access to valuable content or resources for a recurring fee.

For example, you can join online courses. When you do, you get to use certain courses, support, special tools, and more helpful resources from time to time.

Keep in mind, it is not just about making a sale once. It's about providing ongoing value so that your members stay interested over time. As a creator, you have to make sure your members always get new benefits. You know that this does not always happen with most subscription-based models.

That's the difference between membership and subscription.

Additionally, in membership, you can offer people badges, rewards, and other exclusive items.

This model can work well for many kinds of businesses. There are a lot of good things in it for the creator and also for the members. But right now, let’s just talk about why it could be a good fit for you and your business.

What Are The Benefits of Creating A Membership Program In 2025

image

One big reason that people start membership programs is that they can generate a regular income.

Industry data shows that 45.2% of established membership-based businesses generate six figures annually.

And, 44% of associations reported an increase in memberships, along with 27% of improvements in member engagement from 2022 to 2023.

All these numbers indicate that if you set up the membership programs the right way, you get more members. The people who join also feel more engaged.

So, honestly, if you’re looking to create a subscription site, now is the perfect time to get started.

Here are some of the benefits businesses are already getting from a membership program:

Steady and Predictable Income

A membership program could be your one steady and predictable income. Let us explain how.

Let’s say you have a membership plan that costs $49 each month. If 100 people join your program, you can predict the monthly income, right?

If you put value, then this income will only grow every month, just like your growing members.

Builds a Strong Community

image

It's not always about the value that only members get from the creator.

The members also help each other and try to make a good network. When people connect and build networks, they feel like they belong. This is how a strong community starts. In the end, we can say that membership programs help to build a strong community.

Increased Member Retention

Membership programs have higher retention rates than one-time purchases. If you offer (you should) ongoing value, such as premium content, daily trend updates, and support, you will most likely be able to retain them. This will increase your profits.

Valuable Insights for Improvement

Do you want to find out what your audience really needs? A membership program can help with this. Lots of businesses now use their paid or regular members to try out and work on their products. You can do the same for your business.

Your members can share honest feedback. They can show what works well and help fix things that do not work.

Opportunities for Upselling

A membership plan can also help you build a good relationship with your members over time.

You can give your members the chance to buy special upgrades, higher-level memberships, or more services. This way, you start extra ways to bring in money without the need to get new customers.

The members who already take part in your program often feel like getting more. So they are more willing to pay for extra features.

Here is a blog where we list the best successful membership site business models to give you more ideas on membership programs.

These are just a few benefits that any of you can get from your membership program. But we know you are here to learn how to create a membership program, so let's get into this now.

However, we hope you have chosen your membership niche already. Now, follow these steps to set up a membership program for your business.

Step 1: Create Your EzyCourse Account

It's so obvious that, first of all, you have to create an EzyCourse account if you don't have one yet.

You do not have to worry about spending a lot here. EzyCourse offers a seven-day free trial, so you can try out the features and layout before you decide to get any plan.

Go to the EzyCourse website. Then, enter your name, email, and other details.

image

After creating your account, you will be directed to the EzyCourse dashboard. This is what the EzyCourse dashboard looks like.

image

As we are just getting started, right after creating the account, there is nothing to pay attention to at the moment.

You will see a pop-up that guides you through the process of getting started.

On the left side, there will be many options to work on. Click on any of the given options in the left sidebar, and you will see more options to look into.

Let's now learn the main steps of how to create a successful membership program.

image

Step 2: Setting up the Membership Program

Now, as shown in the image below, click on 'Products & Services'. There, you will see 15 more different options expanding. From these, click on 'Membership'.

image

This will take you to the main interface, where you will set up the membership site from

As you can see, there are four steps to do, and each one is simple. We will talk about every part so you will not feel lost.

In fact, you can also do it by yourself by understanding each given option. However, let's move forward now.

image

Step 3: Plan Your Membership Structure and Pricing

In the 'Plan name' input box, type the title for your membership program. Then click on 'Create.'

You don't need to worry. You can change the given name at any time by clicking on the ‘Edit’ button.

You can also watch the step-by-step video tutorial on how to create a membership program for business by clicking on 'Watch Tutorial' beside 'Membership Plan'.

image

Another notable feature is that, under the "Plans" tab, you can also create a new group or view your existing groups.

Creating a group is quite easy with EzyCourse. Basically, a three-click step.

Just type a ‘Name’ for your group. If no plans have been added yet, click ‘Add Plans’ and you’ll see the list of plans you’ve already created.

Tap on any plan you want to add, then click ‘Select.’

You can add multiple plans to a group, and this acts like a tiered membership system.

Once it’s set, your members can view all the available plan options in one place. From there, they’ll also be able to upgrade or downgrade their membership any time they want.

image

Now you can ask - what’s the point of using groups?

The simple answer is, groups will let you create membership tiers which will add more value and flexibility in your program.

You can name your plans however you want and give them some level of plans to choose like basic, premium, elite, etc.

For example:

  • Basic Plan: A basic level of plan will give the members access to only one course.

  • Premium Plan: Those who choose a premium plan in the group will get access to 10 or more courses, learning materials, etc.

  • Elite Plan: Elite plan can be the highest tiered membership plan that will give members access to everything with some extra bonuses.

This is something people expect these days, a lot. After you create the plan, you will see all the plan lists in rows. Each row will have columns like:

1) Id:

Each ID number is a unique number. It helps to identify your plan.

2) Name:

This is the name or plan title you created when you first made the plan.

3) Preview Checkout:

When you click on the 'Preview Checkout' button, you will be directed to the checkout page. On this page, you can see what is there and what it looks like. You can also look over the design and check how everything works. This helps you know what people see when they’re at checkout.

If you click on the ‘Preview Checkout’ eye button, nothing will happen. That’s because we haven’t created the checkout page yet. But we will build it soon in one of the next steps.

image

Here, you can click on the three dots. This will display two additional options. If you pick ‘Copy checkout link’, you will be able to copy the link to your checkout page.

image

The second one is to ‘Set custom checkout redirect page’ to redirect your customers to a particular page.

If you click on that, a pop-up will appear. By using this option, you can redirect users to any of your desired pages.

image

4) Pricing:

Pricing is the most important part of your membership model. Every membership model can have different pricing and plans. You can set the price according to your preference.

Basically, most membership owners look at the value they give to members at a set time, their own costs, what their competitors charge, membership packages, brand value, and more when they set pricing.

However, click on ‘Pricing’ and then ‘Add a price’.

Pay attention here. EzyCourse allows you to choose from eight types of pricing for your membership program.

image

Let us tell you about each of the pricing options listed here in detail:

One-Time Plan (Standard): With the One-Time Plan, members pay once and get lifetime access. This is exactly what you need when you decide to offer standalone courses, premium resources, or permanent community access.

If you scroll down from your mobile while selecting this one-time plan (Standard) pricing option, you’ll see additional settings such as setting up a strike-through price, final price, membership expiration time, and free trial.

Split Payment Plan: When you set up Split Payment, your members do not need to pay the whole amount at once. They can split their big payment into smaller parts. This means visitors can pay a little now and then keep paying on a schedule.

Now, you must be thinking this one is a complicated process. The good news is that you don’t have to take any hassle with this split payment setup.

EzyCourse has an automation feature where you will just enter the number, how much one needs to pay at the very first time, and how much later.

This payment option will definitely help you manage the cost over time.

Subscription Plan (Standard): A Subscription Plan means members pay regularly, monthly, yearly, or at any interval you set.

There are advanced installment settings for you to customize how much each cycle charges and how long it lasts.

Also, you can define an initial cycle amount ( the first payment) and set the initial cycle length.

One-Time Plan (Tiered): A one-time tiered plan will give you the power to set different pricing levels based on the quantity or tier the user selects. You can set one price for 1 unit and a different price for 2 or more units.

Subscription Plan (Tiered): This dynamic tiered-based subscription plan will let you offer your visitors a recurring payment based on how many people or units they need.

One-Time Plan - Flat Price (Tiered): What if you want to charge groups or teams a flat rate after a certain number of purchases? Well, you can do that too with this one-time flat price tiered plan.

Subscription Plan - Flat Price: Like the earlier one, the subscription plan flat price is also for teams or groups, where you can keep the price fixed after a certain number of users.

Donation Plan: And the last one! You have probably noticed people pay whatever amount they want to support the creator, right? Exactly the same. Here, you can set an optional default and a minimum amount that members need to pay to support you. But, this will be completely an option for them.

Remember, there are more options available for you to choose from. This includes things like the number of installments, when enrollment will end, how many intervals there are, and more.

But before you do that, you have to configure at least one payment gateway. Do it from your dashboard.

Step 4: Add Membership Plan to Your Site

Before we move into adding anything to the membership, we have to connect it to our website so people can actually see and buy it.

To do that, go to the ‘Website Builder’ in EzyCourse and either open an existing page or create a new one. To create a new page, give it a name first. You can also set a subpath if you want.

Next, choose a menu where you want this page to appear, and select ‘Page Type.’ Then choose ‘Page Privacy.’

For now, keep the page unpublished. When you tick the ‘Premium’ box, it will show you more options.

Click on ‘Create’. This will instantly take you to a new interface where we will do the rest of the work for now.

When you go to the ‘Pages’ option again, there you will see your newly created page listed. Click on the ‘Three dots’ right below the ‘Action’ column. Then click ‘Edit Page Settings’.

image

Here you will find page SEO, scripts, and pricing settings to work on.

image

However, now get back to the ‘Pages’ again, tap on the ‘Pen-like Icon’. There you will see tons of options to work on, but for now, just click on ‘+Add new section’. After that, a pop-up with lots of blocks and templates will appear.

From the left sidebar, choose any ‘Pricing’ block listed. This is what will show the membership program on your site.

After adding the block, click on it. From the sidebar, set the  ‘Link Type’ to ‘Checkout’. Then choose the membership plan we have created before to connect.

This way, when someone clicks it, they’ll be taken straight to the payment page.

Now, let’s work on the most exciting part of memebrship program.

Step 5: Work On Membership Items

Go back to the membership plan page.

Now, it is time to start working on the horizontal navigation menu. In this part, you will see an option named ‘Membership Items.’.

image

This is the place where you can see all the products and plans you have made before. If you do not know where these items come from, know that they were made using the “Product & Services” option.

You can make your own products or listings too. These can be courses or digital or physical products. After this, you will see every product as an item that you can add later from here in your membership program.

image

As you can see, there are a lot of listed items, including courses, bundles, blog membership, physical and digital products, etc.

Not necessarily; each of the listed items is for content purposes only. Some options are also here for engagement purposes, such as group chats, communities, and private chats.

Take your time to explore these items and then add selected ones to make your membership program more unique, engaging, and learnable.

If you put your cursor on the item in the list, you will see the choice to “Add.”

You can also remove items at any time.

Remember, at this stage, you need to decide the types of content you will give to your audience. No matter what you pick, make sure it goes with your content strategy. You can choose from things like modules, lessons, downloadable resources, templates, and checklists, or use different ways to give the content.

Also, make sure your premium content is fun for people. It should help your members. Try to give them value with what you share.

And this is where EzyCourse will keep you ahead of your competitors.

Step 6: Track Your Members

We are almost done making your very first membership program on EzyCourse. This time, you will get to see how easy it is to check on your members on the platform.

In the horizontal menu, you can see the “Membership Items” tab. Right next to it, there is the name “Enrolled Students.” You can click on this.

These are the people who have signed up for your membership.

image

From this tab, you can track members' order IDs, names, emails, and each of their subscription statuses, including when they expire, as well as an option to assign them an item from the membership items list.

There is another option called “Checkout Page,” where you can simply tweak three checkout settings and save. Your membership program is now live.

Hurray!

So you know now how to create a membership program on EzyCourse. But we want to finish this tutorial the right way. Next, you need to learn some of the best ways to keep your members interested. To do this, you don't need to use any other tool or software. Let's find out how you can do it next.

What Are the Best Practices for Member Engagement on EzyCourse?

Having a membership website, a few high-quality pieces of content, and some social media posts is not enough to attract many members. Right now, there is a lot of competition. So, you need more to stand out.

You will get a few people to join, and who knows! They might not renew their membership if they feel tired of the old way you communicate with them. That is why you need to use some good ways to help member engagement, too.

We know that there are some things that bother everyone and keep them from starting. It is not only with EzyCourse, but EzyCourse can be the all-in-one membership platform that you need right now. This can help you achieve member engagement success.

1) Gamification (Badges/Certificates)

image

EzyCourse has an incredibly helpful feature built in that helps any business owner or membership program manager increase their members' engagement by up to 40%.

So, what does all of this mean for your members? With EzyCourse’s gamification system, learning will feel more fun and interesting for them.

They get points for staying active and badges each time they reach a new goal. When they finish your courses or any tasks you give them, they can also get certificates.

Believe us, this one feature can help you get more people to join your program. It will also attract new members.

2) Group & Private Chats

image

You may be aware that there is a "Group chat" option in the dashboard. However, you might not know that this is another feature from EzyCourse designed to help people get involved.

This feature lets users talk to each other, help each other, share what they think, and, in the end, increase how much people use the platform with higher engagement.

3) Events Management

image

Let us remind you that you are here to do serious business. Many other platforms do not give you event management tools in their plan, but EzyCourse gives you this feature. This can be the one reason why many people want to stay and keep using it.

Here is how.

When you launch something new or share something you feel is important, you can use the event management feature. This helps you get the most people to reply and share their own perspectives.

image

4) Content Dripping

Oh, this feature! It's honestly one of the best for keeping members subscribed. It directly affects whether they "buy in" and stay.

Content dripping means giving out your course or membership content a little bit at a time. With this, you don’t provide all the content at once.

When you do that, and your members log in every day in search of something new, they won't get disheartened because you will have that set up with EzyCourse.

5) Announcements & Notifications

Now, let’s think. Is there anything else we need to do to keep your membership program active throughout the month? Yes, you are right.

Announcements and notifications play a big part in every online business. One can use them to let people know about new updates and changes. Just for this particular feature, many are paying a lot nowadays.

That’s because these keep the members active.

Whenever you add or publish anything new, send out announcements to your entire membership or specific groups.

Just by clicking a button, you can inform them about new content, upcoming events, or important updates. There is also a push notification option, and this one feels particularly interactive.

Only five? No, there are way too many to list here, but we want you to do more than just read about them. You also need to implement each feature as well because these are what will return 100 times more engagement without doing any hard work.

Well, it is simply the system that EzyCourse has already built for its users, so they don't lack anywhere, making some real money.
